(00.) Intro: From Elsewhere

This FZN issue comes in the form of a collection of songs. From Elsewhere is the fourth Friendly Noise compilation, following the acclaimed Friendly people making noise (2003), Are you scared to get happy? (2006) and Splendid isolation (2008). This time we wanted to include only brand new names or reincarnations, and none that previously had contributed to the earlier compilations. So – even though we still really love them – no Testbild!, Most Valuable Players, Action Biker, The Dreamers, Radio Dept. et cetera…

But, of course, no rule without exception; when we heard the new songs of – the original Friendly Noise group – Differnet, recorded this Summer, we just had to include them too. It’s worth mentioning again and again that we feel very humble and blessed when we think of so many talented people around us during all of Friendly Noise’s history. You know who you are! Musically our aim still is to present ”diverse sounds from pure pop to pure art and most points in between”, and we still hope that Friendly Noise is located Elsewhere on the map. Still getting there, hoping you’d like to join us getting… half-lost. We believe 2010 to be the most interesting year in music for ages so see From Elsewhere as another manifestation of that.

‘Til then: come and celebrate the release of From Elsewhere this Saturday – August 21 – when we guest the very fine Mother club at KulturhusTaket in Stockholm as DJ:s and exhibitors. There will also be live music by the Friendly Noise favourites Death And Vanilla, Position Normal and Luva. This is such a perfect night, this Summer night…
